A lot of people are showering you with most of the credit for the Mavericks'
improvement in defense. How do you view your role and impact on the team?

Well, you know, honestly, I just try to look at it as I got to try and make
as big an impact as possible. I just try to make my teammates around me
better and play my part.

Are you thinking about staying in Dallas long-term?

That's definitely the goal but I have to see; I love this area and definitely
love the city. It's an easy one to get used to.

During the Mavericks 12-game winning streak, the team was winning with solid
defense. But lately, it seems to have slipped up a little. What's going on?

That's what I was thinking about anyways as I was heading to practice. But, I
don't think it's about our effort; our effort is definitely there. It's more
so trusting in one another and understanding out defensive assignments. What
happens is, just like great defense and you start trusting one another, the
offensive side starts to creep in. And basically, what you're having right
now is guys wanting to do the right thing; they're coming over and helping
when it isn't necessarily their assignment to help. And then, on the next
play, nobody goes because we're getting mixed up on who is supposed to go and
this and that. So, all of that stuff is creeping in and the only thing to do
is tune it up. The great thing about that is its one thing if guys aren't
hustling or making the effort; then you say, "Okay, we got a problem. We got
to try and get guys' motors going." But when it's just about execution, then
you can fix that problem.

Why aren't you on the All-Star ballot? Who decides these things?
為何你不在明星賽投票名單裡?誰決定這些
Yea, you know what, what happens is I actually found out because someone
called me and asked me and I said, "I have no clue about it." But, basically,
what happens is at the beginning of the year, they only put the starters on
the ballot. And so since I was traded, they didn't know who was going to be
starting; they went by last year's starters and so that's why I'm not on the
ballot.
你知道嗎?我是在人家打電話給我問我為何不在名單時我才知道的。我回答說我不知道
不過基本上每年開始他們都會把先發球員放進候選名單中，而我被交易過來他們不知道
誰會是先發，所以他們就把上季的先發放進去。
