This might not have been Erick Dampier's best game in a Mavericks uniform.
But it was by far the most eye-popping.

Numbers have never been Dampier's thing. He's not going to be a big scorer,
and they don't count pick-setting or lane- clogging in the box score.

But they do count this: 13 points, nine rebounds and five blocks, which is
what Dampier had against the Grizzlies. He didn't miss a double-double by

This actually shouldn't be a surprise. Dampier has played well over the last

Dampier can't stay on the floor when other teams go small. That's just a
reality.But when an opponent plays a legitimate center, like Memphis with

Oden coming up on Christmas, he should get another chance for a productive
night.
