LOS ANGELES – A remarkable trend is developing for the Mavericks. Whenever
Dirk Nowitzki is missing, Josh Howard becomes otherworldly.

It happened again Sunday as Howard was the chairman of the committee that
took up the slack left by Nowitzki's absence and led the Mavericks to a 98-76
demolition of the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. It put a positive
cap on a 2-1 trip that gave the Mavericks 10 road wins. Nobody has more in
the Western Conference.

Bass and DeSegana Diop chipped in to make up the difference.
